Everyone has their own version of the BEST BBQ RUB. This is my dad’s – it is the BEST!
Sprinkle this rub on pork, beef, ribs or chicken. You can cook the meat at once or for an even richer flavor, let it marinate for 2 to 4 hours before cooking.
1/4 cup sea salt
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/4 cup Hungarian smoked paprika
3 tablespoons ground black pepper
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 – 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir. Transfer to a jar, cover and store away from heat and light. This rub will keep several months. Approximately 1 cup.
